Regional circular economy plans
Regional Victoria’s circular economy aspirations for 2030 and how to work together to achieve them.
From waste to value – a regional approach by and for regional Victoria
Regional Circular Economy Plans (RCEPs) set out five regions’ aspirations for a sustainable and thriving circular economy to 2030. They identify local investment priorities to help achieve the community’s aspirations.
RCEPs — the first of their kind — have been created by and for five regions in Victoria: Gippsland, Hume, Loddon Mallee, Grampians Central West and Barwon South West.

Over 125 organisations from across Victoria contributed to the plans, including local government, research and education institutions, commercial and industrial operators and industry associations, water industry, businesses and business associations, social enterprises, waste and resource recovery industry, and the Victorian Government.
Moving to a circular economy opens exciting opportunities for each region to strengthen their local economies, develop new markets, attract investment, and create jobs - supporting their communities and protecting their environments into the future.
The plans have been developed as an accessible resource for all to use, to support collaboration, strategic planning, and investment.
RCEPs support the delivery of Victoria’s circular economy policy, Recycling Victoria: A new economy which will reduce waste, increase recycling, and create more value from our resources.
