- Our students achieve nation-leading NAPLAN results. In 2025 Victorian students ranked first or second in 18 of 20 NAPLAN measures.
- Our teachers are highly skilled, delivering evidence-based teaching and learning in every classroom.
- Many pathways are offered for Years 11 and 12, including the VCE, VCE Vocational Major and Victorian Pathways Certificate.

- Our schools engage and challenge high-ability students through the Student Excellence Program.
- Specialist school settings provide unique opportunities, including the Centre for Higher Education, John Monash Science School and the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School.

- We ensure our schools are respectful, safe and engaged learning environments through frameworks supported by strong research like School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support.
- There are health and wellbeing supports for students in every school. We provide mental health and wellbeing leaders in every primary school and mental health practitioners in every secondary school.
A place where every child is welcomed
- Our schools are inclusive, supporting every student to participate and succeed. Our disability inclusion model helps schools support students with disability to ensure they can achieve their full potential at school and in life.
- First Nations students are supported to achieve their potential and feel culturally safe as set out in Marrung Aboriginal Education Plan(opens in a new window), developed with First Nations people.
- We have programs to help families with the cost of living. These include free breakfasts, free period products, help with the cost of uniforms and the Smile Squad free dental checks.
