Bullying
Primary: I’m not a bully
It is important to be careful that what is ‘joking’ to you is not hurtful to someone else.
Primary: I’m not a victim
Even friends don’t treat each other well all the time.
Primary: Real friends
Friendships are built on what you do online and offline.
Secondary: I’m not a victim
Most of us want to feel we belong and be part of a friendship group.
Cyberbullying
Primary: But I didn’t do it
If you see online bullying, it is important to tell someone who can take action.
Primary: I didn’t mean it
Pretending to be someone else online or offline may seem like a joke but it is actually lying.
Primary: That’s risky stuff
Having secrets can seem fun or exciting but if you hurt the people around you, it’s not worth it.
Primary: Words won’t hurt
Bullying hurts most when it happens all the time and more and more people get involved.
Secondary: But I didn’t do it
If you see online bullying, it is important to do what you can to stop it.
Secondary: I didn’t mean it
You can’t always judge, or control what effect your actions online will have on other people.
Secondary: I’m not a bully
Text messages are quick and easy, but can’t be unsent, so it’s important to think before you text.
Secondary: That’s risky stuff
Posting any images of other people without their permission is not OK.
Secondary: Words won’t hurt
Online bullying can feel much worse than offline bullying.
Cybersafety
Primary: Digital tattoo
Once stuff about you goes online there is no knowing who will see it, or when they will see it.
Primary: It’s private
Digital media is so easy to copy, edit and share that we sometimes forget that it isn’t always ‘ours’.
Primary: Pressure pix
Mobile devices have made the taking and sharing of images so easy that people sometimes don’t think about the consequences of their actions.
Primary: Remix
When researching a project, it is important to know when and how to use other people’s work.
Primary: Worth the risk
It can be surprising how much information about you can be available online when you do a lot of stuff on social media.
Secondary: Digital tattoo
The things that make up your ‘digital reputation’ are like tattoos – once they’re there, they last forever.
Secondary: It’s private
It is important to protect your online identity.
Secondary: Pressure pix
We can be hurt and embarrassed by images of ourselves that are taken out of context and showed online.
Secondary: Real friends
Is your online behaviour affecting you offline?
Secondary: Remix
Part of doing a project is researching what other people have done. It is important to know when and how to use other people’s work.
Secondary: Worth the risk
You need to be careful about what personal information you share online. The person you are interacting with may not be who they say they are.
