We’re celebrating 7 years of Free TAFE in Victoria!
Free TAFE gives Victorians access to 80 qualifications and short courses without the cost of tuition fees.
Free TAFE helps meet Victoria’s future skills needs by making vocational education accessible. Since it began in 2019, Victoria’s Free TAFE program has:
- benefitted 229,200 students
- saved students $777 million in tuition fees.
Of the people who have accessed Free TAFE in Victoria:
- 57 per cent were women
- 29 per cent were from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds
- 25 per cent were in regional Victoria
- 24 per cent were unemployed
- nearly 10 per cent were students with a disability.
The most popular Free TAFE courses are:
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Diploma of Nursing
- Certificate IV in Cyber Security
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Diploma of Community Services
All Victorians can upskill for in-demand jobs regardless of their existing qualification level and can study multiple Free TAFE courses within the same priority pathway.
