Before you apply for subsidised training, contact your preferred training provider to:

Getting assessed

When you apply for subsidised training, the training provider will check your eligibility.

You will need to provide original documents or certified copies to prove your citizenship or permanent residence.

You’ll also need to provide information about any other training you’re doing or you’re planning to do, as there are limits on how much Skills First training you can do.

Use the checklists below to prepare your documents for your assessment.

Check with the training provider whether you need hard copies (print outs) of your documents, or whether digital copies are acceptable.

After assessing your documents, the training provider will be able to confirm whether you are eligible for funding.
