Dr Pia Johnson
Dr Pia Johnson is an acclaimed photographer, artist and educator. She is the Associate Dean, Photography in the School of Art at RMIT University.
What inspired you to apply?
I wanted to find an experience that would shape, inform and inspire me to be more, and think about leadership through a different lens – as a transcultural woman.
I wanted to find a space that could provide new ideas and perspectives, especially outside of the arts and education sector, one that would equip me with skills for further professional development.
What has been the biggest take away message for you?
I come from a collaborative and creative background, so it was wonderful to hear that my leadership journey can be grounded in this experience.
One of the takeaways I really valued was that everything is relational, and that we need to create a space where everyone can share their culture and knowledge respectfully.
How has this program helped you pursue your career goals and aspirations?
It has given me the insight, confidence and some tangible skills to pursue my leadership journey. It has enabled me to place my cultural values at the centre of my work as a leader, harness transformative change and speak from a space of abundance.
