Licences and permits

Apply for a licence or permit for wildlife, research, or forest produce. Native forests and wildlife are protected in Victoria. The Conservation Regulator supports the long term health of Victoria’s natural environment by ensuring that everyone follows environmental laws. To protect against harm, some activities require a licence or permit under the law.

The Conservation Regulator issues licences and permits for a range of purposes, including keeping or controlling wildlife, and the collection of some natural resources from State forests.

Undertaking activities without the proper licence, permit, or authorisation may be an offence under the law and can carry significant penalties.
