LGBTIQA+ Taskforce

The LGBTIQA+ Taskforce advises the Victorian Government on lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTIQA+) issues to support equality through legislation reform, new policies and programs.

Established in 2015, the Taskforce is convened by the Minister for Equality to ensure that the Victorian Government’s equality initiatives are underpinned by genuine community consultation.

LGBTIQA+ Taskforce membership

The LGBTIQA+ Taskforce is made up of community members who are appointed for three-year terms. The current term will expire at the end of 2028.

The Minister for Equality Vicky Ward MP and Adam Bourne, Taskforce community member, are co-chairs of the Taskforce.

The Taskforce community members are:

Deputy secretaries from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, Department of Justice and Community Safety, Department of Health, and Department of Education are ex-officio Taskforce members.

Working groups

The LGBTIQA+ Taskforce is supported in its work by the Health and Wellbeing Working Group and the Justice Working Group. Working group members are appointed by the Minister for Equality for three-year terms.
