Role of the Victorian Skills Authority Executive Leadership Team
The Executive Leadership Team plays a crucial role in guiding and overseeing the strategic and policy direction of the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) in alignment with its mission and values. This includes skills planning and solutions, industry analysis, strategic advice, performance delivery and monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and risk and issues management.
Chief Executive Officer
Craig Robertson commenced as the founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the VSA in August 2021. He brings a wealth of knowledge in the training and skills field to the role, with a significant career in the state and federal public sector and a reputation as a leader in vocational training policy and reform.
Previously, Craig was the CEO of TAFE Directors Australia from April 2017, representing TAFEs Australia-wide. In 2015-16 he was Deputy Secretary in the Victorian Department of Education and Training, and prior to that he had more than 30 years in various roles in the Australian Government, focused on schools funding, employment services and vocational education and training.
Craig holds an Executive Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Education (Primary).

Executive Leadership Team
Lee-Anne Fisher, Deputy CEO
Lee-Anne Fisher has extensive experience in vocational education and training gained through senior positions in Queensland, Victoria and the Australian Government (Australian National Training Authority), as well as in industry as National Policy and Projects Manager, Education and Training at the Australian Industry Group.
Lee-Anne has held positions in the training and skills portfolio across policy, strategic projects, data and analysis, engagement, participation and inclusion.
Lee-Anne holds a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA and a Master of Educational Leadership.
Katrina Currie, Director, Engagement and Skills Reform
Katrina Currie is responsible for engagement with industry and metropolitan and regional stakeholders, as well as national system engagement and reform.
Katrina has extensive experience in skills, employment and human services programs and economic development, with a career spanning all levels of government and the not-for-profit sector in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
Within the Victorian Government, Katrina has worked in policy and operations in the previous Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions; the Department of Health; and the Department of Family, Fairness and Housing.
Victoria Gell, Director, Services
Victoria Gell oversees the organisation’s digital and communications functions, the annual Victorian Training Awards and Learn Local Awards programs, community services including Skills and Jobs Centres and the TAFE and Training Line, and the VSA’s Advisory Board.
Victoria was part of the small team that established the VSA in 2021, where, as Director of Analysis and Insights, she was responsible for the delivery of the first statewide Victorian Skills Plan for 2022 into 2023.
She has a background in research, data analysis and economic development spanning roles in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
Isfaaq Timol, Director, Analysis and Insights
Isfaaq Timol leads the annual Victorian Skills Plan, the VSA’s program of student and employer surveys, and the VSA’s work on skills modelling and labour market analytics.
Previously, Isfaaq was an Economist at the Productivity Commission and he held various roles in Victoria’s education department, covering schools to post-secondary education and training. He has a strong background in economics, analytics and policy development.
Isfaaq’s qualifications include a PhD of Economics and Econometrics and a Diploma of Leadership and Management.
