Victorian Digital Skills Compact to meet the state’s digital skills needs
Published: Wednesday 25 March 2026 at 12:30 pm

Representatives from industry and the Victorian TAFE network gathered at Chisholm Institute in Frankston today for the launch of the new Victorian Digital Skills Compact.
Digital technology is changing every industry – from health and logistics to finance, manufacturing and the creative sectors. By 2035, Victoria will need 87,700 more digital workers, and digital skills will matter in every job, meaning the compact is both an important and timely initiative.
Led by the Victorian Skills Authority, the Victorian Digital Skills Compact consolidates the commitment by the Victorian Government, industry and training providers to ensure every worker, learner and business has the digital skills needed, both now and for the future.
Benefits of the compact include the following:
- It will make it easier for Victorians – including TAFE and Free TAFE graduates - to move into digital jobs. Women, First Peoples, people with disability and regional Victorians in particular will have more opportunities
- Businesses will have a strengthened pipeline of digitally skilled talent from a wider range of pathways, to find the skilled workers they need
- Productivity and innovation will be supported, leading to a thriving Victorian economy.
The compact provides an important shared platform to align around real workforce challenges, pool expertise, accelerate action and amplify what works, so that Victoria can benefit.
