The Victorian Government’s Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund helped Wellsprings for Women to expand their facilities.

Supporting Wellsprings for Women

Wellsprings for Women is a women-only neighbourhood centre providing a safe and welcoming environment for women in Dandenong. Wellsprings plays an important role in supporting migrant and refugee women, particularly those from Afghan backgrounds to connect, learn, and thrive. With support from the Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund (MCIF) since 2018, Wellsprings for Women has upgraded its facilities to better serve the community.

Upgrades include:

Constructing the Women’s Lounge “Pod,” creating a safe and comfortable space for women to socialise and participate in creative activities.
Upgrading the Cultural Cuisines Kitchen, enabling the delivery of cooking programs that bring women together through food and culture.
Providing a space for creative expression and skill-building in the Women’s Atelier.

These upgrades have transformed the centre into a supportive and well-equipped environment for women to thrive.
