- Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforces
Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforces work as integrated, multidisciplinary teams. They work together to support government schools across Victoria. They support schools to meet the engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and learning needs of students.
Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforces comprise:
- Student Support Services (SSS) – psychologists, social workers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and behaviour analysts
- primary and secondary school nurses
- Visiting Teacher Service (VTS)
- Koorie Engagement Support Officers
- other region or area-based staff whose key role is to provide support to schools. See Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforces.
- Student Support Services
Student Support Services (SSS) are multidisciplinary area-based teams of allied health professionals.
Access to SSS as part of response to critical incidents is managed through eduSafe Plus.
Access for all other types of SSS support is managed through a referral process. This happens after the school discuss with SSS or Health and Wellbeing Key Contact. This process is outlined in the Student Support Services referral process.
- Legal Division
Principals can contact the department’s Legal Division for advice on a range of issues such as:
- duty of care advice following the incident or disclosure
- protecting the privacy of impacted students when the school talks to parents or the school community. Support with whole school communications is provided by the department’s Communications Division.
