Personal services is part of the other services industry, and includes a range of diverse, in-demand roles. For example, you could be a beautician, a hairdresser or a stylist. Or, you could be a personal trainer or a massage therapist.

In Victoria’s expected that 7,400 new workers will enter the other services industry by 2027, and that 35,400 will enter by 2034.*

The industry is changing. Victorians are becoming more health conscious, so personal and sport trainers are in demand.

The demand for beauty and hair removal services is also steadily going up. Barber salons are becoming more popular, which is opening up a whole new market.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) can open doors to a variety of roles in this industry, including apprenticeships and traineeships.
