Administrative and support services

Learn more about working in the industry.

On this page

Large companies are bringing call centres back to our shores. Investments in public infrastructure will require ongoing maintenance. Flexible work arrangements are changing the ways businesses operate. All of this means more jobs.

In Victoria it’s expected that 10,100 new workers will enter the administrative and support services industry by 2027, and that 43,000 will enter by 2034.*

On the administrative side, you could work in office management or human resources. You could also work in a call centre.

Or, if you’re more hands on, you could work as a gardener or commercial cleaner. More jobs are being created with new residential and commercial developments across Victoria.

The industry is wide open for entry-level job seekers and those looking to enhance their career. Vocational Education and Training (VET) is the most common path to employment.
