Report child sexual abuse in Victorian government schools

On this page

Reporting sexual abuse can be challenging. It may be difficult to talk about the experience. A specialist service can assist you with making a report. For more information, see Sexual Assault Services Victoria.

If you are concerned that you or someone else is in danger or at risk of sexual abuse:

Information for current students

It is never acceptable for a student to be abused in a school. Every child and young person has the right to be safe, respected and protected while learning.

Information for current students on reporting abuse to Victoria Police and the Department of Education is available at: Report abuse if you’re a current student.

Information for former students

It is never too late to report abuse.

Information for former students on reporting child sexual abuse in a Victorian government school is available at: Options for reporting historical child sexual abuse in schools.

For information on other options and supports for former students who experienced child sexual abuse in a Victorian government school, see: Victim-survivor support for former students.
