2026 Recognition of Service ceremony

Long-serving staff from across Victoria will be recognised for their dedication and loyalty of service to public education at the 2026 Recognition of Service ceremony on Sunday 24 May at the Pullman Melbourne on the Park.

About the Recognition of Service ceremony

The Recognition of Service ceremony is an annual event that recognises and celebrates dedication, loyalty and longevity of service to the Department of Education.

Service recognition is awarded at a state level each year for staff who have achieved 40 years, 45 years, 50 years, 55 years and, in some cases, 60 years of service. Regional offices coordinate service recognition ceremonies for staff who have achieved 35 years of service.

Eligibility for service recognition is determined on an annual basis by the People Division within the Department of Education.
