Professional development and resources for Learn Local providers
The Adult, Community and Further Education Board offers a variety of supported professional development opportunities as well as teaching and learning resources for the Learn Local sector to adapt and use.
Professional development
ACFE-funded professional development is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and professional practice of the pre-accredited workforce across Victoria, including Learn Local teachers, trainers, tutors, administrators, coordinators, managers and members of governing bodies.
The professional development focuses on building the capability of Learn Local providers to:
- lead in core skills delivery in English language, literacy, numeracy, digital and employability skills
- partner with other local organisations to support learners and build their pathways to further study and work
- develop effective strategic pre-accredited business planning and marketing.
Professional development plans are developed for Board approval each December and are reviewed mid year.

- Facilitated professional learning
Professional learning activities for the Learn Local sector are offered through ACFE and a network of specialist stakeholders to develop the skills of Learn Local staff to deliver high quality, pre-accredited language, literacy, numeracy, employability and digital (LLNED) programs.
These events may be delivered blended or face-to-face.
ACFE-funded professional development opportunities are distributed via sector memos and all activities are listed on the Learn Local Secure Portal calendar(opens in a new window).
