The Premier
The Premier is Victoria’s head of government. The Premier is the leader of the political party that won most seats in the last election, and then appointed by the Governor of Victoria.

The Premier is expected to have a vision for Victoria that addresses the big issues and includes plans for the state’s continued prosperity.

Hon Jacinta Allan MP is the Premier of Victoria, and the Leader of the Victorian Labor Party.
She was sworn in as the 49th Premier of Victoria on 27 September 2023.
