National skills system

We support effective Victorian engagement with the Commonwealth Government We collaborate with national bodies on priority skilling issues, such as industry-based Jobs and Skills Councils and Jobs and Skills Australia, Commonwealth Government departments with responsibilities for skills, and other jurisdictions.

We do this to build broader stakeholder networks, position Victoria as a leader in skills innovation and ensure Victorian perspectives are represented in national skills reform dialogue.

Our work with Jobs and Skills Australia includes to develop a robust classification of skills, improve our understanding of future skills needs, and how to adapt our qualifications system to meet these needs.

Drawing on our Industry Advisory Groups and in-house technical expertise, we aim to ensure national training packages, accredited courses and workforce planning reflects the needs of Victoria’s economy.
