Mental health and wellbeing support for schools affected by January 2026 bushfires
On this page
Victorian government schools most impacted by the January 2026 bushfires will share in $2 million additional funding through the Schools Mental Health Fund.
The funding will enable impacted schools access to increased recovery and wellbeing support for students through the Schools Mental Health Menu, focusing on trauma-informed support and disaster, grief and loss programs.
Other support
Schools will be able to replace uniforms, books and other educational items through State Schools’ Relief.
Schools can also apply for additional support through their School Breakfast Clubs program. Schools are invited to order additional take-home food items to support their communities.
Schools not currently participating are encouraged to contact Foodbank Victoria at erinh@foodbankvictoria.org.au to place their orders.
