Mija Gwyn - Victorian Disability Advisory Council Deputy Chairperson
Hi, my name is Mija Gwyn, my pronouns are she and her. I’m lucky to have worked at a range of disability advocacy and arts organisations. Disability is a key part of our lives, just like queerness, age or cultural backgrounds and people have different ways of expressing who they are.
Through my term on VDAC I’d like to ensure we have diverse voices at the table, representing different viewpoints to influence government policy. We know that the most marginalised people are often those who have intersecting identities. We need to centre them and their experiences to ensure that they can represent themselves.
