Chloe Spencer Sports Award Presentation

Chloe Spencer - Outstanding Sports Achievement Award winner 2025:

[Chloe Spencer]

I’ve been doing taekwondo since I was five. I’ve tried swimming and ballet but taekwondo is my favourite. The training makes me happy and I love the feeling of being at competitions fighting to win. My name is Chloe Spencer.

Taekwondo is a sport where you score points by kicking your opponent in special areas. In competitions, we use electronic body and head guards that register the points automatically.

I’m very competitive and love to win competitions, but losing can be tough. I know that I need to train hard to give myself the best chance to win. Thankfully, I have great coaches that push me to be my best. So I train hard for them.

I currently compete at state, national and international competitions. My best moment was winning a bronze medal at the World Cadet Championships last year. It was amazing.

I’ve had so many opportunities, met so many people and made so many friends through taekwondo. It’s also taught me there are no shortcuts in anything. You have to work hard and eventually it will pay off.

As far as the future goes, I want to medal at the World Junior Championships, have success overseas and eventually represent Australia at the Olympic Games.
