Eleanor Drayton, Hume Central Secondary College

Ellie Drayton:

Hi, my name is Ellie Drayton and I work at Hume Central Secondary College, where I’m the Maths Learning Leader and Numeracy Learning Specialist.

I love maths and I’ve always loved it, ever since I was a child. I now love teaching it and I love sharing my passion with students and in the pedagogical conversations that I have with other teachers.

I’m really excited to be a Maths Ambassador. It gives me the opportunity to speak to more people across the whole state about my passion. It gives me the opportunity to work with other passionate educators in improving student outcomes in a subject that’s so important for everyone’s future.

Without numeracy, without mathematical capabilities, people really are not ready to face the real world, and it’s our job as educators to equip them and help them be successful human beings.
