Diversity on Victorian Government Boards Guidelines
It is important that Victorian government boards reflect the diversity of the Victorian community. Diversity of skills and expertise, and the perspectives and lived experiences of people from different backgrounds, contribute to good governance and help ensure that boards are making decisions in the interests of the Victorian community.
These guidelines provide general advice to support diversity on boards. The guidelines also provide tailored advice to support the following cohorts that experience barriers to participation:
- women
- culturally and linguistically diverse people
- young people
- LGBTIQ+ people
- people with disability
- Aboriginal people
- people living in rural and regional Victoria.
The Diversity on Victorian Government Boards Guidelines are a companion document to the Appointment and Remuneration Guidelines and apply to all appointments to which the Appointment and Remuneration Guidelines apply.
