Firefighters Registration Board

The Firefighters Registration Board was established as an independent entity on 17 October 2023, in accordance with the Fire Rescue Victoria Act 1958 (the Act).

The Firefighters Registration Board administers the Firefighters Registration Scheme.

The scheme does the following:

The inaugural members appointed to the Firefighters Registration Board have a wealth of knowledge and experience to provide direction on professional firefighting capabilities and standards and the management of a volunteers workforce.

Ms Lynn Glover PSM

Chair

Lynn Glover is an accomplished senior executive with over 40 years’ experience in the Victorian Public Service. She is currently a consultant for various schools and education organisations in Victoria. Prior to her retirement from the Victorian Public Service in 2020, she was the Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority, Department of Education from 2007 to 2020.

Lynn was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2021.

Mr James Kefalas

Member

James Kefalas has over 22 years of operational experience within the Country Fire Authority and Fire Rescue Victoria. James has held many roles during his career including across the training portfolio. He is currently a senior station officer at the Geelong City Fire Station.

Mr Mark Lyons

Member (former senior firefighter)

Mark Lyons has 35 years operational experience with Fire Rescue Victoria. Mark retired in 2021 at the rank of Commander.
