Creating inclusive work environments

Federation University, Central Highlands region Federation University was granted $200,000 in 2024 to develop and deliver a co-designed package of inclusive leadership and management learning materials.

The pilot program will support the construction and manufacturing sectors to increase attraction and retention of apprentices. Common reasons for non-completion across the trades include interpersonal difficulties with employers, being made redundant or not liking the work.

With 795 new workers in manufacturing and 603 new workers in construction expected by 2026, addressing retention and inclusivity across the Central Highlands region is critical.
