ANZAC Day

Held annually on 25 April (public holiday)

Marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australia and New Zealand forces during WWI and the day troops landed in Gallipoli.

Remembrance Day

Held annually on 11 November

Marks the end of WWI after 4 years of conflict. Germany called for a suspension of fighting and guns fell silent at 11am on 11 November 1918. Victorians are encouraged to observe a minute’s silence at 11am in remembrance of all those who have served.
