了解志願服務的定義、可以做義工的人群，以及成為義工所帶來的收穫。 維州人一向有投身社區組織參與義工服務的優良傳統。許多組織都依賴義工來完成重要任務。
志願服務是指個人自願投入時間和精力，無償幫助他人。這些服務可以是一次性的，個人自發參與或團體組織的，可以在個人、團體或組織層面進行。
每年有超過330萬維州人參與志願服務。
志願服務可帶來豐富收穫。透過參與志願服務，不僅可以學到新技能，亦可能開啟通往有償工作或更深入學習的途徑。這也是與社區建立聯繫、貢獻力量的機會。
我可以做哪些志願工作？
您可以參與多種多樣的志願服務。不同的志願工作可滿足不同的興趣和目標。您可以指導本地運動隊、參與植樹活動、指導年輕人，或者為緊急服務提供協助。
每位義工都能為社區帶來改變。
志願服務
澳洲志願服務組織對志願服務的定義是：「自願奉獻時間，為共同利益服務，不求任何經濟利益」。
這一定義涵蓋多種形式的志願服務，包括正式與非正式、社區與企業的志願活動，亦包括透過工作場所或組織進行志願活動。
正式的志願服務
正式的志願服務通常透過公共、私人、非政府和社區組織進行。這些組織也被稱為義工參與的組織。
在正式的義工崗位中，通常會有崗位描述或任務清單。義工可每週或每月投入固定時數參與志願服務。
申請正式的義工崗位有點似申請工作。
非正式的志願服務
非正式的志願服務發生在組織之外，通常在社區中進行，以滿足特定的社會需求。此類服務可能包括幫助鄰居整理庭院、照看朋友的孩子，或在緊急情況下伸出援手。
許多從事非正式志願服務的人，並不認為自己是義工。
在維州330萬名義工中，有47.5%（約157 萬）屬於非正式義工，另外有30.4％（約100 萬人）在社區中參與正式與非正式的志願服務。
誰可以成為義工？
志願服務適合每一個人。無論是什麼背景、技能、經驗或能力，每個人能找到適合的角色。您可以選擇適合自己投入和時間安排的志願工作。

同時要考慮如何在服務過程中保障自身安全，
