Prizes and Draw
- The Book Giveaway is a game of chance. Winners are selected at random which means that every entry has a chance to win.
- The winners will be randomly drawn by an electronic draw process from all eligible entries received during the promotion period. The first valid entry drawn will win the prize.
- A draw will take place on the last Thursday of each month during the Challenge (April to September 2026) at 2 Treasury Place, East Melbourne VIC 3002.
- There are 3 prizes to be won each month from April to September 2026, totalling 18 prizes.
- The prize to be awarded to the winner of each draw is a pack of 5 books from Penguin Random House valued at approximately $90 (RRP). The books are pre-chosen and cannot be substituted for other titles.
- Winners cannot transfer the prize to someone else or request a different prize. If a prize is unavailable, the Department reserves the right (but is under no obligation) to substitute a prize of equal or greater value (as determined by the Department, acting reasonably).
- Winners will be notified by email within 10 business days of each draw. If a winner does not respond within 10 days of notification, the Department can choose to withdraw the prize from the winner and conduct a second randomised draw from the original pool of eligible entries to select another winner for the prize.
- Once a winner has been contacted, Penguin Random House will deliver the prize to the school or early childhood service’s address.
- Although every effort will be made to ensure Competition book prizes are sent to the winners’ school as stated on the entry form the Department takes no responsibility for lost or misdirected items not received by winners.
